Chili's Grill & Bar,  West Jordan, Utah

Dinner party of 18 people! Wait for food over one and a half hours.

Vegetarian Tacos on Chilis Resturant Specials Menu October 2nd, 2011

Review: tortillas cold, rubbery in lower parts, stale and not crisp in upper areas. If you microwave a common flour tortilla and leave it in microwave too long it would end up like this with the food contacting the tortilla rubbery to wet, and the upper portions nasty! portions very small, (cold to very cold) rice was simply boiled no flavor with a slight corn garnish, the beans in bowl on left were about two ounces and were not properly heated (luke warm to cold), portions in vegetables were very small and cold. Grilled vegetables not grilled. Mushrooms were okay and seasoned but not cooked with other vegetables, if they were cooked with other vegetables the other veggies would taste good!

Todays Date: October 2nd, 2011
Time of Seating: 19 people at 6:35 final guests arrive at 6:45
Dinner for extended family members

Food Orders entrees arrived at 8:05pm  YES almost an hour and a half for very simple meals!
At 8:08 pm Two Fajitta orders had not arrived and the above photograph of a taco attempt arrived.

Meal Issues:

Waitress and other service team members did not interact appropriately or as a team.

Salsa and Chips arrive, no small plates or offering of small plates for the chips and salsa. The other issue is there were not enough to cover the extensive table connections.
Designed for sharing but not properly presented for sharing.

Water? I know I live in one of the dryest states in the United States but the server should  offer water glasses. When the water is presented the water should be in a pitcher with ice and NOT at room temperature. Ice should be replaced in glasses if that is the case.

Glasses, glasses, glasses, and more glasses. When a guest finishes glasses they should be removed from the table out of the way. This goes for all the soda glasses and the beer steins, beer bottles.
When a guest has two or more soda glasses in front of them there is a problem. When you have to ask for more ice water repeatedly there is a problem.

Quality of Food: Portions very small. Some portions missing in comparison to food photographs in menu. Is there a shortage of food?

Taste of Food: Average to less than average, fried items taste was more consistent with that expected

Temperature of Food: Steamed vegetables like brocolli side and mashed potatoes with the sirloin steak arrived cold and lacking of flavor, vegetables were obviously just out of frozen bag, or  a short cut and lacked any seasoning or suggestion for adding a seasoning to improve them upon arrival.
Rice sides were very bland, the rice was simply boiled rice and no other flavors were notable. Bean sides were tasty but portion was very small at less than two ounces.

Presentation of Food: Not as impressive as the menu photos. Not even close to the menu photos on most items.  Fried food was closer than the non fried items, but not a correct match.

Food issues were reported by all guests upon leaving in regards to anything that was not in a deep fryer.

Food Server Issues: Difficulty in getting extra plates for appetizers, difficulty in getting the mountain of glasses removed, not offering suggestions with what a meal comes with such as a baked or fries instead of mashed with sirloin.
